What’s an easy pumpkin art activity to do with kids?
Pumpkins are such a fun theme to use with toddlers and preschoolers! You will love this low prep pumpkin art activity we came up with! This activity helps kids explore glue and paper to make a fun pumpkin art project!

Supplies Needed
Here are the simple supplies you’ll need for this pumpkin art activity.
- Cardstock (we used neon pink, green, orange, white, and black)
- Craft tray or pan (we get our metal pans at the Dollar Store)
- Glue sticks
- Pumpkin printable to trace
- Scissors (for the grown up)
Prep Ahead
Here are a few things you’ll want to prep ahead for young kids. Older kids can cut these on their own.
- Use the pumpkin printable and trace it onto orange paper to cut out a pumpkin for each child.
- Cut triangles and other shapes out of black and neon colors (not orange) to use for a mouth, nose, and eyes.
How to set up this Pumpkin Art activity
- Lay out paper pumpkins on a craft tray or pan with a glue stick.
- Put out a basket or container with colorful pumpkin pieces for kids stick onto their pumpkins (colorful triangle noses, eyes, and mouths)
- Encourage kids to start creating with their tools!
How to make this Pumpkin Art Activity
- Encourage kids to use the glue stick to stick their colorful pumpkin pieces onto their pumpkin!
- This is their time to shine, so let them make decisions about where they put their pieces and how many they put onto their pumpkins. They might do it differently than you would.
- Once they’re done decorating their pumpkin, help them choose a colored piece of cardstock to mount their creation on. This makes their pumpkins pop! “Mounting” their pumpkin really just means they need to put a lot of glue on their page so they can stick their pumpkin onto it! My class loves this opportunity to use a lot of glue.
